Bien qu’initialement construite comme la mascotte d’un magasin de tabac, Scotty devient par la suite la figure de proue de la barque Highlander en service sur les Grands Lacs vers 1850. Scotty est récupéré en 1874 après le naufrage du Highlander.




Although originally crafted as a tobacconist’s mascot, “Scotty” ended up as a figurehead on a barque called Highlander which was put into service on the Great Lakes c. 1850. “Scotty” was salvaged in 1874 when Highlander was sunk.
