Sydney Fisher, ministre fédéral de l’agriculture pour le gouvernement Laurier entre 1896 et 1911, est une figure marquante de l’histoire locale et nationale. Né à Montréal, Fisher achète des terres au Lac-Brome. Il crée par la suite la Ferme Alva qui se développe en chef de file national au niveau des techniques agricoles expérimentales. Sydney Fisher a contribué à transformer la vente et la transportation des produits Canadiens, tel les produits laitiers et les fruits, ce qui a grandement bénéficier notre communauté locale.

Sydney Fisher, federal minister of agriculture for the Laurier government from 1896 to 1911, played a significant role in local and national history. Born in Montreal, Fisher purchased land on Brome Lake and created Alva Farms that became a national leader in experimental farming. He was able to transform the marketing and transportation of Canadian products, such as dairy and fruits, which lead the way for many vast improvements in our community.
