Ce vélocipède appartenait à James McLaughlin qui exploitait une scierie à Warden. Ce vélo possède une roue avant d’un très grand diamètre et une roue arrière plus petite d’où son nom anglais Penny Farthing.

This bicycle belonged to James McLaughlin, who operated a sawmill in Warden. The penny farthing was so named because its large front wheel and small rear wheel were as disproportionate in size as a penny and a farthing.
