This beautiful antique sword from the 1830s belonged to one of the most eminent residents of Knowlton, Paul Holland Knowlton. Knowlton helped develop the town in its earliest stage, erecting a sawmill, a grist mill, pearlashery, offices, and multiple stores. He also helped equip 400 men in Shefford during the Rebellion of 1837, during which time he most likely used this very sword.
